Very Good

The onsen was great—especially nice to sit outside and relax. Dinner and breakfast were decent, offering a mix of Japanese dishes with a few Western options.

Evenings can feel a bit dull, as the area is quite isolated—on a rainy day, there's not much to do nearby and the lack of a view doesn’t help.

Tradition and well equipped accommodation

We like the room is spacious. The property has onsen for free and really good massage service with a cost. The buffet breakfast and dinner are very nice.

The room is a bit old and not clean enough, we felt very hot at night but couldn’t adjust the air conditioning.

Quick trip to the hot springs and views of Mt Fuji

The hotel is well worth the effort to get to it the views of Mt Fuji are just perfect and the hot springs is so nice to relax in after taking the bus! We traveled by bus and just make sure you know what bus route you need and add extra time since the bus can be late and is very very packed.

The meal could have been higher quality but overall it was very tasty

Fantastic views and facilities, an amazing stay

The onsen in the room which overlooked Fuji-san was amazing and the view itself was exceptional. The room was nice, though the bathroom facilities were a little dated. The meals were nice and there was a lot of food variety.

The bathroom in the room was a little dated but otherwise fine. It is tricky to get to if you don't have a car and the cable cars aren't running.

Building is tired and old but view of Mt Fuji is fantastic is you are lucky.

Loved the view of Mt Fuji from window.

Was disappointed to be told that onsen unavailable for people with tattoos as mine is very small and is a beautiful sakura not all over my body.

Lovely place to stay at in Hakone but the food left much to be desired and hopefully a shuttle bus can be implemented in

We booked the room with a private onsen and a view of Mount Fuji and it was lovely! Spacious, clean, with good amenities. Staff was friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name but the male receptionist was especially helpful during our stay!

The buffet and location. While there was a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes, the food was just okay. We definitely couldn’t eat it more than 2 days in a row though since the menu barely changes. But more importantly the location. There are 2 ways to get here via public transportation, the Ubako bus stop and Ubako Ropeway. The ropeway is open dependent on weather conditions and we weren’t sure if we were allowed to have luggage so we opted for the bus. The traffic around the main street of Hakone is bad and it delays the bus tremendously, to the point where you can’t rely on the bus stop times listed. A shuttle from a train station would greatly help this issue.

A relaxed stay

Lots of variety for the dinner buffet. The Ladies bath is quite relaxed. The staff is nice but they don't speak much English.

We took the shuttle from that ropeway to the hotel. The tiny path leading to the hotel is not suitable for walking with the luggage. If the ropeway is closed, it'll be very difficult to travel to the hotel. The better option is to drive to the hotel since there is no restaurant or shops or anything to do around the hotel. I'm

Great hotel and onsen, everything you need for a relaxing night or two.

Great hotel, large room with excellent view and staff were tops. Fantastic buffet, so much option. Onsen was a highlight, particularly the outdoor onsen. We didn't see Mt Fuji our entire stay due to heavy mist but regardless, it was fantastic.

Bus there was probably the lowlight, and travelling on it with luggage. The tea and coffee facilities in the lobby closed for a few hours during the middle of day which was strange and inconvenient.

Love the stay. Onsen is super.

Our room facing the amazing view of Mount Fuji. Good variety of choice for dinner and yummy too. Large Onsen. Out door onsen with the great view of Mount Fuji. Room can accommodate our 4 family members (13 y/o and above) comfortably. Hotel room come with shower & bathtub, unlike many Ryokan no attached shower room.

To get to the hotel transportation. When the ropeway stop operating (stop at 4:15pm everyday or close due to weather & maintenance) it's hard to get to the hotel without a private car. The only choice is bus. The bus stop is 8-10mins walk to the hotel with a very dark road at night.

Youre here for a Mt Fuji view onsen experience.

Onsen is likely the main reason youll come here. If you get a quiet moment in the outside section with a view of Mt Fuji, there are few moments that compare. Hotel itself is as dated as all comments say, you're not here for a luxury stay but rather appreciating what is around you. Breakfast and dinner are good enough, with a decent selection of foods to satisfy most palletes.

The hotel is in need of a facelift to elevate the experience. Onsen can get busy, which is understandable, but few understand onsen etiquette, which slightly changes the vibe.

Great onsen experience with Mt Fuji views

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Green Plaza and the location (with direct views of Mt Fuji from our rooms) was superb, the onsen on site exceeded our expectations and the dinner and breakfast had a wide variety for the whole family.

The technology within each room needs updating (no USB charging option) and with kids the television options are limited to local channels and program in Japanese only with no other options.
